Kodikulam tank eco restoration

The proposed Kodikulam Eco-Restoration Project at Madurai is planned over an extent of 9.8 acres, with the objective of restoring and enhancing the ecological, hydrological, and environmental value of the Kodikulam water body and its surrounding landscape. The project focuses on sustainable restoration measures aimed at improving water retention, groundwater recharge, biodiversity, and overall environmental quality.
The scope of development includes desilting and rejuvenation of the water body, strengthening of bunds, development of natural drainage systems, creation of green buffers, and plantation of native species to promote ecological balance.
